Stages of Accompaniment
If it has been discerned that Salesian life may be for you, you are ready to take the first step and become a candidate. This period usually lasts one year. It is a time to intensify the experience of Christian life by becoming part of a community that witnesses to Gospel values in a Salesian family atmosphere. You will live in close association with one of our communities and get first hand experience of our life of prayer, community and ministry.

Becoming a Postulant

During this ten-month period, you will continue to experience the daily life of community as you deepen your own spiritual life and are incorporated more fully into our ministry.

Becoming a Novice

The novitiate is a two-year program. As a novice, you will devote yourself to personal and spiritual development, to the study of religious life, theology, and Salesian spirituality while you continue to join us in our ministry to youth.

Profession of Temporary Vows

Once you choose to make your profession as a Salesian Sister, you enter the phase of temporary profession. The period of temporary profession can last from six to nine years. It is a time during which you commit yourself to live the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in community. You continue to integrate your Salesian vocation and prepare yourself for perpetual profession as a Salesian Sister.
